When Media & Power Merge, Democracy Dies

This Trump and Paramount/CBS drama should have everyone’s alarms blaring. This isn’t just a “business deal” or a win for one political party, and it’s a dangerous step toward media control, censorship, and authoritarian power.

If this deal goes through, it gives Trump-aligned power direct influence over what millions of Americans watch, read, and believe. This isn’t speculation; it’s the same playbook authoritarian leaders use. Kim Jong Un controls all media in North Korea. Putin’s regime silences independent news in Russia. When a leader controls the narrative, the public is left in the dark, and democracy withers.

We’re already seeing the effects. CBS is involved. Paramount is involved. And now Trump is celebrating a $16 million “win” tied to smear narratives about Kamala Harris. This is exactly how propaganda takes hold: one side controls the stories, the headlines, and the framing, and the truth gets buried.

Here’s a question: Do you think Trump will just finish a term quietly and “pass the baton”?

His track record says otherwise. He’s spent years undermining the press, elections, and trust in democratic institutions. Consolidating major media under his influence is the next step—and it’s how dictators are made.

We cannot sit back and pretend this is normal. It’s not. We can’t “wait and see” how it plays out because by then it could be too late. Media consolidation = narrative control. Narrative control = power that can’t be challenged.

Why This Matters and What We Can Do

The truth is, the “little people”-content creators, independent voices, and everyday people, are the ones breaking through the propaganda right now. People are already turning away from major networks and flocking to social media creators who can explain what’s really happening.

Take Aaron Parnas as an example. He’s not my cup of tea (his family’s Zionist connections and his silence on Gaza unless he’s pressured to speak make that clear). But people go to him for news because they trust someone outside of the corporate media machine. This is exactly why it’s so important to find and follow independent creators you believe in—people who aren’t compromised and who are willing to call things as they are. We’re not even a year into this presidency, and in four years, things could look very different if we just stay quiet.

I know some of you may wonder why I’ve shifted into politics when my niche has always been spiritual content. The answer is simple: I can’t ignore how politics shapes the way humans are treated.  So for me, these two worlds aren’t separate. Politics can either help or harm people. Spirituality can either empower or set a blaze to what’s happening. My Aquarian self can’t turn away while humans are suffering in the name of “law.” My hope is to utilize my voice, knowledge, and platform to help cut through the noise and inform as many people as possible.  

Even if it’s a small group, it’s still my group, it’s my community, and I refuse to leave them in the dark.
